A new Town Hall situated in Tottenham Green, TH2.0 aims to make politics accessible, giving The Town Hall back to its citizens. Inserted into a proposal to rejuvenate the park, the building becomes an extension of the public space. The palette of materials is an inversion of the typical Town Hall: the materials of the common facade - brick and Portland stone - are flipped to become a public landscape, conquered by the constituents.
The central lobby of the building forms a high tech core that, through an online interface, can be remotely 'curated' in response to the specific spatial needs of the occupants. Far from merely presenting a spectacle, the movement and reconfiguration of the hall by the public wrests control and organization away from the bureaucrats, subverting and undermining the traditional power structures of the Town Hall typology.
